We are currently hiring for the following position: Treasurer/Finance Director The treasurer is responsible for creating a yearly budget for all events, acting as a liaison between the HOPE president(s)/branch president(s) and all HOPEmembers. The treasurer is the signing authority for club deposits, reimbursements and finance related materials. Main Responsibilities Liaison between the branch presidents and all HOPE members Responsible for attending any relevant finance workshops and updates and training by the university and student union Must create a yearly budget for all events and distribution of funds to be presented to the team Signing authority for club deposits, reimbursements, invoices, and finance related materials Must provide updates after each event about the distribution of funds and allocation of money for each event Responsible for providing a budget for each HOPE event and notifying the committee in charge Responsible for preparing finance documents, such as year-end budget balancing, as required by the university student union Responsible for managing all membership, internal, and external payments Management and safe-keeping of the HOPE cash box during all relevant HOPE events Must commit to timely deposit of funds after each HOPE event Responsible for the operations of Elections, including but not limited to responding to all emails or applicants, setting up documents and spreadsheets necessary for the election, and writing up the application forms Update HOPE members during general meetings on a Treasurer’s report including the HOPE account balance - must commit to weekly deliverables Respond to agenda and minute postings within two days Time Commitment All-member HOPE general meetings - once per week Meetings with branch president, student union and the Finance Commission at your university as needed Social media responsibilities and Zoom meetings as needed Hours of commitment may vary but will be close to 10 hours per week Additionally, we are looking to fill multiple remote opportunities in mentorship, finance, data analysis, human resources, marketing, volunteer coordination and more. Main Responsibilities Identify potential grants and funding opportunities for ongoing programs or new projects. Promptly complete funding applications using professional and grammatically correct language. Brainstorm and contribute to strategic discussion meetings regarding approach to funding applications and program designs. Initiate contact with non-profit organizations (NPO) or registered charities in the Greater Vancouver area for potential partnerships or collaborations Respond promptly to emails (strictly within 2 business days) Complete tasks and responsibilities before deadlines Communicate transparently with committee directors and officers. Description: Canada Snowboard and Alberta Snowboard are proud to host the 2023 AIR NATION FREESTYLE NORAM / NATIONALS; a national championship that gathers the rising stars in Freestyle Snowboarding from across the country. From February 12th to 17th, athletes will do their best to polish up their tricks and impress the judges on the Half Pipe and the SlopeStyle course at Winsport Canada Olympic Park. Description: AIBF is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a performance platform for outstanding junior high/middle school, high school, and community bands. The Festivals are held each year in Calgary and Edmonton. Organizers are committed to providing participants with a valuable and stimulating educational experience in a non-competitive atmosphere. The heart of our festival is our volunteers! We require a large base of volunteers in order to make the Festival run smoothly and successfully. Your participation helps provide a memorable and beneficial educational experience to our student participants. There are a large number of positions and shifts available. Please note that no prior music experience is required. Most of the jobs are relatively easy. On the day of your shift, our Festival Coordinator will be able to walk you through your job responsibilities and will be on hand to provide assistance as needed throughout the day. Some of the volunteer jobs include: band host - helps our groups navigate the venue by leading the group from one area to the next secretary - helps adjudicators’ stay organized, handing out and collecting required materials for each ensemble check-in desk - manning the administration desk as bands check-in emcee - announcing the performances and sponsors (from a script) The Festival runs at two separate times in three different locations for the Concert and Jazz portions of the festival, and volunteers are needed at each. Many volunteers sign up for a single morning or afternoon shift, but if you have the gift of time, we encourage you to sign up for multiple shifts. Whether you can do one shift or multiple shifts, any assistance you can provide will be appreciated. Description: We have several Bingo shifts coming up and are asking for community volunteers to help us meet our required volunteer numbers! Our membership pool of volunteers is small after the pandemic and we could really use your help. Our immediate need is for this coming Monday January 30, starting at 4:30 pm. We also have bingos on February 12, April 10, and May 6th. All shifts at Bingo Barn. Running & Reading Club Coach

Description: Start2Finish Club coaches have a significant role to encourage students on a weekly basis for positive change physically, mentally, and emotionally through fitness and literacy. Coaches help to build confidence and motivate students to achieve success, stay in school, and build lasting friendships with peers and mentors. Details: 2 hours once a week for 32 weeks, at the school (January-May), approximate time 3-5pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays; Physical activity (running, aerobics, games); “Word of the Day” Social Emotional Learning component; Reading/literacy support individually and in small groups. Clubs are run at different school locations across Calgary (Erin Woods, West Dover, James Short Memorial).
