Description: EMMEDIA Gallery & Production Society is seeking new members for our Board of Directors! We are looking for dedicated individuals with a passion for the media arts to help take EMMEDIA to the next stage of our development. No prior board experience required! This is a volunteer position, working to provide oversight and direction to the EMMEDIA staff. We welcome all interested parties, and are particularly seeking those with experience with media arts, budgets, and/or human resources. Please note that to maintain our charitable status, board members cannot receive compensation from EMMEDIA, whether that be from the presentation of art, teaching of workshops, or otherwise. WHO WE ARE EMMEDIA is an electronic media arts centre established in 1979 and incorporated as a non-profit society in 1983. Professionally managed and directed by practising artists, the Society responds to a broad community by offering affordable access to media art production tools, services, technical and educational support, and to an array of public exhibition programs. Our commitment to the media arts crosses a range of media and disciplines: audio, video, web-based art, independent film, animation, multimedia, performance and environments. Today, EMMEDIA is a bridge within the arts community. Helping to meaningfully connect creators with equipment, resources, presentation spaces and studio workspace. We support artists of all disciplines and ages, supporting like-minded organizations through partnerships and collaborations to co-produce exhibitions, presentations, and publications. We are the go-to resource and diverse knowledge hub that shares our programming expertise, production equipment, gallery and presentation spaces, and technical skills to help our community realize their artistic visions. In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth, EMMEDIA Gallery & Production Society honour and acknowledge the ancestral territories  and oral practices of the Siksikaitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy) which include the Siksika, the Kainai, the Piikani, and the Stoney Nakoda which include Bearspaw, Chinki and Wesley, Tsuut’ina nation. Casino Volunteers are Wanted!

Hockey Calgary Board of Directors - Director at Large

Workshop Host (In person) Volunteer

Description: Women’s Learning is a core program of the Women’s Centre and is primarily provided by volunteer facilitators and hosts both online via Zoom and in-person. Workshop Host Volunteers support the Centre’s learning programs by providing assistance to facilitators with workshop set-up and administration and help create a welcoming workshop space for attendees. Duties: Support Learning Coordinator and/or volunteer facilitator with the workshop set-up, including tables, workshop supplies and refreshments. Greet women as they arrive for workshops. Administrative support including taking attendance, completing waivers and evaluation surveys and other relevant tasks. Provide a supportive, inclusive and non-judgmental environment. Refer participants to Peer Support volunteers for other support and referrals. Promote Women’s Centre workshops, events and other services. Needed skills: Ability to work with a diverse range of women in a non-judgmental manner. Ability to work both independently and as a team member. An interest in women’s issues and in helping women. Good listening and communication skills. A willingness to work within the framework of the Women’s Centre. Follow through with the volunteer commitment as pre-determined. A commitment to attend the Introduction to the Women’s Centre and other 5 accompanying training sessions within the first 6-months of volunteering. Time commitment: 3-4 hours per month or per week, mostly evenings, and depending on availability and learning program schedule. Steps Off the Street 2022 Run/Walk
