We are currently building 65square, the world’s healthiest social media and dating platform, designed with game\u002Dlike features and characteristics of an MMO. Our goal is to create a safer, more positive online space for users. Role Description:  We are seeking a skilled Database Architect/Modeler with extensive experience in NoSQL databases to join our non\u002Dprofit organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database solutions that support our mission\u002Ddriven initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of NoSQL technologies and the ability to translate complex data requirements into scalable database architectures. Key Responsibilities: Database Design and Architecture: Develop and implement database models that effectively support the organization’s data needs. Create logical and physical data models using NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Couchbase. Data Management: Oversee data integration processes, ensuring data quality and consistency across various platforms. Implement best practices for data governance and security. Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance and make recommendations for improvements. Conduct regular assessments to identify bottlenecks and optimize queries for efficiency. Collaboration: Work closely with cross\u002Dfunctional teams including software developers, data analysts, and project managers to understand their data requirements and provide solutions that meet organizational goals. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database designs, configurations, and procedures. Ensure that all changes are documented in accordance with organizational standards. Training \u0026 Support: Provide training sessions for staff on database usage and best practices. Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting database\u002Drelated issues. Qualifications MUST be 18 years and above. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field\u003B Master’s degree preferred. Experience in database architecture or modeling with a focus on NoSQL databases. Proficiency in at least one NoSQL technology (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB). Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and principles. Experience with cloud\u002Dbased database solutions (AWS, Azure) is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems efficiently. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non\u002Dtechnical stakeholders. Preferred Skills Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is advantageous. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or JavaScript for scripting purposes. Experience working in non\u002Dprofit organizations or similar environments is desirable. Role Description We are seeking passionate and driven individuals to join DEFEND’s Management Team. As a Committee Member, you will help guide and oversee the organization’s goals, ensuring that our mission remains at the core of all decisions. You will meet weekly via Zoom to discuss long\u002Dterm objectives, project plans, and strategies to advance our mission. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to significant social change and be a part of a dynamic and impactful nonprofit team. Responsibilities Attend and contribute to three weekly Zoom meetings, with a break on the fourth week. Collaborate with team members to discuss progress, refine project plans, and set actionable steps for long\u002Dterm goals. Support efforts to mandate age/ID verification on social media, ensuring children and vulnerable persons are safer online. Contribute to the evaluation and creation of organizational policies. Work within teams to achieve project milestones of varying scales. Attend and vote on group interviews for candidates applying to join DEFEND teams or committees. Qualifications Commitment to DEFEND’s mission to protect children and vulnerable persons online. Strong communication skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Previous experience in nonprofit management, policy development, or project management is an asset but not required. Ability to dedicate a few hours per week to attend meetings and contribute to projects.
