Our staff help children, youth and families move from vulnerability to stability, crisis to independence. The Epilepsy Association of Calgary is a charitable social service agency established to address community, individual and family needs related to epilepsy. Our mission is to support independence, quality of life and community participation for those with and affected by epilepsy. Epilepsy is a largely invisible condition that can affect nearly anyone – and despite significant advances in the understanding of the condition, a stigma still exists. Since 1955 we’ve worked tirelessly to not only support people with epilepsy, but also to foster a greater understanding of the condition.

The Festival Chorus was founded in 1959 as an amateur adult community chorus in Calgary.  It is entering its 65th season in the fall of 2023.  There are 40 to 50 members in the chorus.  The chorus is led by an Artistic Director and has a Board of Directors that include a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  The chorus performs an annual series of 3 concerts of a varied repertoire.

As an incubator and producer of mask, puppetry, and animated objects we are the primary curator and presenter of local, national and international puppetry. We strive to provide Alberta audiences with the chance to experience the breadth and diversity of these innovative art forms. Vital to the development of puppetry as an art form, the festival not only provides a stage for Alberta creators to showcase their work but is also a forum for an international exchange of ideas providing learning opportunities for professional and emerging artists and the public at large to find expression through animated objects.

With over 5 million visits per year, and a population base exceeding 1 million bordering this natural wonderland, Kananaskis Country is not immune to development and use pressures. Working collaboratively with our partners, we develop programs and activities that: Actively protect the ecosystems within Kananaskis Country through trail care and other volunteer programs; Educate people about the appropriate use of this natural treasure through our environmental education programs; Engage communities and individuals in the stewardship of Kananaskis Country through direct participation and sponsorship opportunities; Support sustainable use initiatives undertaken in partnership with the Kananaskis division of Environment and Parks.
