Purpose: Building positive relationships with youth currently living at the Heart Home Network Centre Position Duties: Initiate and build relationships with resident youths One evening per week The Ideal Person for this Role is: Individuals with experience working with youths Individuals comfortable with youths from diverse backgrounds Individuals with strong communication skills who are comfortable initiating conversations Benefits to Volunteer: Making a difference in the lives of youth who have experienced trauma Networking with others with similar interests Improving communication and de-escalation skills Training and Requirement: Preliminary Interview with program facilitator References Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check 3-hour Heart Home Network volunteer orientation and role specific training Continuous training on various topics
