Opportunity Description:

Are you comfortable with online meeting platforms? Would you love to visit and chat but prefer to do so from the comfort of home? Then the Virtual Visit volunteer position is just right for you.  By using online platforms to engage residents through technology, you are able to connect with a resident who is also willing to chat and connect with technology. You will be contributing to their health and wellbeing by helping to decrease the social isolation of anyone unable to meet in person. You could be part of the Rec@Home Adult Day Program for community members who live in their own homes but are looking for interesting activities and social connections.  You will need: A proficiency with online communication platforms To be comfortable with technology Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and do not record or take pictures of residents Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with residents Understand the safety requirements and rules of the Brenda Strafford Foundation Check in and out and track your hours with your supervisor Be aware of starting on time and maintain a professional demeanor with residents Report the resident’s participation to your supervisor for charting on their clinical record In a timely manner, let your supervisor know if you are running late or unable to fulfill your commitment
