Opportunity Description:

The Integrated Post Secondary Education Society of Alberta (IPSESA) is growing and seeking volunteers to join its Board of Directors. We are a non-profit organization that aims to provide life enriching opportunities and an unbound vision of the future for individuals with developmental disabilities. We do this through post-secondary education, fulfilling employment, and full community participation. We currently run Inclusive Post-Secondary (IPSE) programs at the University of Calgary, St. Mary’s University, and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. We also provide a Graduate Support Services (GSS) program with participation of many Calgary employers. If you would like a role in championing greater community inclusion for persons with developmental disabilities, gain experience in the nonprofit world, work with a diverse team of interesting people, learn new or enhance existing skills in governance, leadership, finance, negotiation, collaboration, and decision making, and enrich your resume, then we would like to hear from you. The IPSESA Board of Directors meets in person monthly for two hours at the University of Calgary and conducts an Annual General Meeting in the fall. Directors may also be asked to serve on a subcommittee or work on additional tasks that fall upon the board.
