The Western Canada Peer Training Society (WCPTS) is dedicated to fostering peer support communities that inspire hope, enhance resilience, and promote well-being. The Wild Rose Neurological Network is a nonprofit organization based in Calgary, Alberta, dedicated to assisting individuals with mobility issues caused by neurological disorders such as MS, Parkinson's Disease, and brain injury. Founded on March 23, 2021, it aims to provide access to mobility devices that are not covered by the Medical Services Plan (MSP). The organization operates without a fancy office space, ensuring that all profits directly benefit its clients.
The Women’s Centre is a women-only space which provides services and referrals for all women, as well as a place where women can come and build community. We work with a unique peer model, where women are recognized as the experts in their own lives and volunteers work as women helping other women. We offer women referrals, basic needs assistance, peer support, and many other services. We provide an informal social space where women can come and meet with other women over a coffee or a snack. The Women’s Centre is also a place where women can learn about social issues and work for social change. In general, the Women’s Centre is a very busy and vibrant place to volunteer. Unless otherwise stated on a posting, our volunteer positions are open to women-identifying individuals who are 18 years old or older.
Building healthy communities for over a century Since our inception in 1902, YMCA Calgary has evolved into a vibrant charity offering health and wellness programs, leadership and community outreach programs, child care, and day and overnight camps. YouQuest is Calgary's first community for people with young-onset dementia (under 65 years) and their families.  Our purpose is to promote health and well-being by ensuring access to recreation therapy, counselling and peer support. YouQuest offers a place to belong, a reliable support network to families for full-day respite and caregiver peace of mind to maintain family responsibilities. A registered charity, YouQuest provides access to recreation centre amenities people to follow their own interests. Our Recreation Therapy staff and community volunteers provide functional support as needed to help people achieve well-being, learn new skills, and maintain their independence.
