Judo has been in Canada for over 100 years. Operating as a non-profit governance to promote and support the development and promotion of the Olympic sport of Judo. Currently recruiting volunteers for the 2025 Judo National competition being held in Calgary.

The Burgess Shale Geoscience Foundation was established in 1993. We are a not-for-profit, charitable organization with a mandate to educate the public in the geosciences. We present Earth Science education programs to the general public, students, professionals, and scientists. Partnerships with organizations locally, nationally, and internationally have helped us to develop our content.

he Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre is a registered charity based in Calgary, Alberta, serving the loss community worldwide.
Our mission is to support and connect individuals who have experienced the trauma around miscarriage, stillbirth, Termination For Medical Reasons (TFMR), abortion, neonatal loss, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), and infertility.
We acknowledge that the journey through loss towards healing is as complex as it is individual. As such, we offer many no-cost pathways to healing including a help line, support groups, peer mentorship, and professional 1:1 sessions.
Dogs with Wings Assistance Dogs Society is a registered non-profit organization. At Dogs with Wings Assistance Dog Society (DWW), our vision is to transform the lives of people and advance the Service Dog sector. Our dream is wellness and support for all. To make this dream a reality, our dedicated staff team, our devoted Board of Directors, and our community of over 200 volunteers, work together to breed, raise, train, and place our service dogs with clients and enact our mission to foster integration and independence for individuals and social service agencies by providing them with highly trained Assistance Dogs. DWW is based in Alberta and accredited by Assistance Dogs International (ADI) and we are members of the Canadian Association of Guide & Assistance Dog Schools (CAGADS).
Free Spirit Sanctuary provides a peaceful, lifelong home for both domestic and wild horses, donkeys and farmed animals rescued from abuse, neglect or slaughter. FSS is founded on the belief that all living beings have inherent value, and are deserving of respect, compassion and the freedom to live according to their true nature. By helping people truly see the sentience, intelligence and rich emotional lives of animals, we hope to inspire compassionate living and interconnectedness with Nature and all living beings. We are also involved in increasing awareness about and advocating for the wild horses of Alberta, bringing an end to horse slaughter in Canada and the humane treatment of farmed animals.
The Community Therapy Dogs Society (CTDS) provides care and support through animal-assisted interventions to individuals of all ages dealing with physical and mental health challenges. Our dedicated teams visit healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and senior homes. our Mission is to add value to people’s lives through a positive interaction with therapy dogs and to facilitate a better understanding of the role of therapy dogs through education and awareness. CTDS is entirely a volunteer organization and is a recognized Registered Charity by the Canada Revenue Agency. We offer our programs free of charge.
The Friends of Kananaskis Country is a federally-registered charity committed to sharing this special place with the world through education, community engagement and volunteer participation. We are aligned with the Government of Alberta’s vision of engaging the public in participating in the long-term use and enjoyment of Kananaskis Country though a Cooperating Agreement we have with Alberta Parks.
We are a community of over 1,600 individuals committed to the balanced, sustainable use of Kananaskis Country, as well as the protection and sharing of its unique natural and cultural experiences. With over 5 million visits per year, and a population base exceeding 1 million bordering this natural wonderland, Kananaskis Country is not immune to development and use pressures. Working collaboratively with our partners, we develop programs and activities that:
Actively protect the ecosystems within Kananaskis Country through trail care and other volunteer programs;
Educate people about the appropriate use of this natural treasure through our environmental education programs;
Engage communities and individuals in the stewardship of Kananaskis Country through direct participation and sponsorship opportunities;
Support sustainable use initiatives undertaken in partnership with the Kananaskis division of Environment and Parks.
The Canmore Folk Music Festival is Alberta's longest-running folk music festival, celebrating 48 years of music, community, and creativity.
