It marks the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day, a powerful time to recognize and celebrate the unique traditions, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
Following the environmental stewardship themes of recent weeks, this milestone naturally pivots our collective conversation toward community, heritage, and reconciliation. First declared as National Aboriginal Day in 1996 and renamed in 2017 to honor distinct identities, this day lands on the longest day of the year, symbolizing a deep connection to the land and a time for community gathering.
