Opportunity Description:

Think about a person that made you feel valued and supported, that helped with your self-confidence and saw potential in you. You can be that person for one of our young people in Calgary by volunteering as a mentor with Hull Services. Hull Services is a non-profit organization whose mission is to partner with young people and families, building resilience today for a brighter tomorrow. How can you help? Be a positive role model and help a youth navigate challenges, identify and develop their strengths, build their self-esteem, improve their life skills, and expose them to new opportunities. Caring and supportive relationships are essential to a child’s development and well-being. At Hull Services, mentors are part of our holistic approach to treatment and care. Mentors are often the only unpaid support in the children’s lives. What’s in it for you? It feels good to do good. Your time, perspective and skills can influence a young person’s path and future. Throughout your involvement, our team at Hull Services will be there to listen and to provide support and guidance. Learn about trauma, mental health and building positive relationships, and access several valuable training opportunities for personal or professional development. Volunteering can enhance your skills and your connections to the community. Locations of opportunities: We serve youth from Calgary and surrounding areas. Commitment: An average of 1 to 4 hours per week, for a minimum of one year.
