Board Treasurer The Historical Society of Alberta is a membership based, not for profit, organization established in 1907. Our role is to capture and document Alberta’s History. The Society has five Chapters which operate across the province and produces quarterly magazines for the membership. The Role: The Board requires an interested individual to perform the role as a voluntary Board Treasurer. The Treasurer receives membership fees and monies paid to the society and deposits the same he/she shall account for funds, and keep books as directed. He/she shall prepare a detailed account of receipts and disbursements and prepare a submission to Annual General Assembly for the records of the Society. The Treasurer will attend all Council meetings and AGM’s Background: Background knowledge and experience in finance, audit and accounting is essential. Time Commitment: The time commitment will vary through the year; however we can estimate the time at approximately four or five days a month as needed. The time is flexible.
