Opportunity Description:

For 27 years, Stardale Women’s Group has empowered the lives of Indigenous girls, strengthened their families, and inspired communities to engage in the core values of reconciliation. We offer programs and services to Indigenous young women and girls in overcoming systemic barriers.  Position: Volunteer Drumming Instructor  Location: Calgary Description: Are you passionate about drumming and empowering young minds? Do you have experience leading drumming sessions and connecting with youth? Join us in making a difference in the lives of Indigenous girls by becoming a volunteer drumming instructor! Responsibilities: Lead engaging and interactive drumming sessions for Indigenous girls aged 10 to 17 years old. Create a safe and inclusive space where girls can express themselves through rhythm and music. Develop lesson plans that promote self-confidence and teamwork while incorporating cultural elements. Inspire and motivate participants to explore their creativity and develop their musical skills. Requirements: Experience in drumming and facilitating group sessions. Ability to connect with and engage youth from diverse backgrounds. Sensitivity to the cultural heritage and experiences of Indigenous communities. Reliable and committed to volunteering regularly (weekly or bi-weekly sessions preferred). A police and Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
