Parkdale Nifty Fifties Seniors Association Board of Directors Job Description SECRETARY Authority and Responsibility: The Board of Directors is the legal authority for the organization. As a member of the Board, a Director acts in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization. Requirements:  Serves on the Executive Committee.  Keeps records of meetings held and sends these minutes to the Business Manager for filing in the Minute Book.  Acts as signing officer, with another officer or Staff member for cheques and other documents.  The Secretary by affixing his/her signature shall attest formally to the legitimacy of Board documents.  Responsible to the Board for reporting on and noting any inconsistencies of Board actions.  Makes sure all necessary reports are filed.  Orients the new Secretary.
