Opportunity Description:

Street Sisters Society is 100% women powered. We work to provide vulnerable women in Calgary with basic life necessities. We provide connection, resources and hand up to those who need it most. We provide lunches, warm clothing, harm reduction supplies, bras and hygiene supplies while building up trust and connection. Administrative role: By providing direct administrative support to Street Sisters Society, a volunteer in this role will provide organization and record-keeping for all board meetings and will attend board meetings to take minutes and will provide board materials one week in advance of the meeting. Board meetings held in the evenings, and there are roughly 12 meetings per year. This person will support the organization with approximately 10-hours of work each month outside of meetings. Ideally this volunteer will have a background in similar administrative and organization work, but full training and support will be provided. Volunteers will ideally commit to this role for a two-year period. The role will mostly based out of home, however some in office time will be required (approximately 4 hours per month). The office of Street Sisters is located in the Community Wise building at 223 12 Ave SW. This volunteer will support with policy and procedure writing, volunteer, lunch and fundraising coordination support and student support from an administrative lens. This volunteer must have a personal computer that can be used for these administrative activities. Qualifications: High level of confidentiality and discretion Ideally, proficient in Microsoft 365 suite including Word and Excel or willing to learn Ideally, willing to learn basic website maintenance (we will also provide training) Ideally, proficient in Gmail Business Suite applications such as forms, calendar, and gmail   Please email your interest in this position to: Dana@StreetSistersSociety.com
