Position: On-camera Spokesperson/Performer (Volunteer) for 65square will appear as spokespersons, hosts for events or educational content support. Location: Remote (Weekly Zoom Meetings) About Us: DEFEND is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to reducing risks for children and vulnerable people online. We are currently building 65square, the world’s healthiest social media and dating platform, designed with game-like features and characteristics of an MMO. Our goal is to create a safer, more positive online space for users. Role Description: We are looking for an On-camera Spokesperson/Performer who will be responsible for representing DEFEND in various media formats, including video productions, live events, and social media campaigns. This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively communicate our mission, engage with diverse audiences, and inspire action towards our cause. The ideal candidate will possess strong presentation skills, charisma, and a genuine passion for our work.If you’re passionate about online safety, social media innovation, or game-like experiences, we encourage you to apply! Key Responsibilities: Media Appearances: Serve as the primary on-camera representative for the organization during interviews, promotional videos, public service announcements, and other media engagements. Prepare and deliver compelling messages that resonate with target audiences while accurately reflecting the organization’s mission and values. Content Creation: Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop engaging content for various platforms including social media, websites, newsletters, and fundraising campaigns. Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas that enhance visibility and outreach efforts. Public Engagement: Attend community events, workshops, and conferences as an ambassador of the organization. Engage with stakeholders including donors, volunteers, beneficiaries, and the general public to foster relationships and promote awareness of our initiatives. Training & Development: Stay informed about current trends in non-profit advocacy and communication strategies. Participate in training sessions to enhance on-camera performance skills as well as knowledge about relevant issues related to the organization’s mission. Feedback & Improvement: Gather feedback from audiences and stakeholders regarding presentations and performances to continuously improve delivery methods. Analyze engagement metrics from digital content to assess effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly. Qualifications MUST be 18 years and above. Proven experience as an on-camera spokesperson or performer is an asset/Applications are also welcome with no experience but passion to learn. Experience in non-profit sector preferred. Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly. Strong interpersonal skills with a knack for building rapport with diverse groups. Comfortable working in front of a camera; previous acting or public speaking experience is advantageous. Passionate about internet safety for children, youth and vulnerable people, with a deep understanding of related issues. DEFEND's Education Team develops impactful educational materials, webinars, and tools for parents, kids, and caregivers to address online safety. As a Team Lead, you will oversee team activities and drive educational initiatives. Content Writers will contribute to the development of compelling written or video materials, helping to raise awareness about online safety risks like dangerous TikTok challenges and executing project completion on a regular basis (one written article every other week approximately OR one 1 min video every other week) This is a volunteer position requiring a commitment of a few hours per week. Key Responsibilities: For Team Leads: Organize team goals, support team members, and drive team growth. Prioritize and align educational efforts with DEFEND’s mission. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational content. For Content Writers & Creators: Conduct research and stay informed about internet trends and online safety risks. Create engaging articles (one every other week) or short educational videos (1 min bi-weekly). Use provided tools and resources to develop content (e.g., scripts, music, assets). Ensure content aligns with DEFEND’s standards and is suitable for various platforms, including social media and our website. Qualifications: Strong passion for online safety and protecting vulnerable populations. Excellent writing, editing, or video production skills (depending on your focus). Ability to conduct research and translate findings into meaningful content. Leadership skills for Team Leads, with experience in organizing and supporting teams. Creative thinking and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. Familiarity with social media platforms and internet trends is a plus. You'd get raw files and need to create unique cuts with a lot or all creative freedom (Unless a specific project from a team had specific needs). You can be using iMovie or Final Cut or Premiere or whatever you wish but you should know what you're doing.
