Join us for our 5th annual Golf for Wishes tournament at Priddis Greens Golf and Country club on Thursday June 18, 2026. This fun-filled event will help to raise critical funds for Make-A-Wish to allow for more Wish Kids throughout Southern Alberta to have their most heartfelt wishes granted! We are looking for volunteers to support in various roles throughout the day to help ensure the event runs smoothly!Date: Thursday June 18, 2026 (6:00am-2:00pm - shift times will vary)Location: Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club (1 Priddis Greens Dr, Priddis, AB T0L 1W3) - Check-in Location: President's RoomVolunteer Roles:- Set-up and Registration: help set up signage, the silent auction, and registration tables. MS Walk is a one-day event held at over 50 locations across Canada, bringing together people impacted by multiple sclerosis. Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and principles. Experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS, Azure) is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems efficiently. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Skills Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is advantageous. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or JavaScript for scripting purposes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to significant social change and be a part of a dynamic and impactful nonprofit team. Responsibilities Attend and contribute to three weekly Zoom meetings, with a break on the fourth week. Collaborate with team members to discuss progress, refine project plans, and set actionable steps for long-term goals. Policy Development: Assist in creating HR policies that align with DEFEND’s needs and organizational goals. Committee Support Program: Help develop and oversee the Committee Support Program, assigning Committee Members as support contacts for volunteers.
