We provide education and services, and we advocate with federal, provincial, and territorial governments on issues that matter to the Parkinson’s community in Canada. Potential Place is a non-profit mental health agency dedicated to improving the lives of people with chronic mental illness. We hope to help our members lead productive and rewarding lives. We work to maintain a vibrant community of individuals seeking to overcome barriers presented by mental illness. Through participation, personal development, and individual empowerment, we give people the tools they need to create a sustainable, fulfilling lifestyle at work and at home. We seek out employment opportunities for our members through initiatives like our Employment Program* and provide ongoing support, coaching, and mentorship to our members. Founded in 2010 by Jessica van der Hoek, Prairie Sky Equine Assisted Therapy (PSEAT) is a registered charity that provides customized, transformational, and life-changing equine assisted therapy programs to individuals facing a range of physical, emotional, and social challenges. Volunteer Opportunity – Millrise Seniors Village (Calgary, SW) Millrise Seniors Village is a vibrant seniors community located at 14911 5 Street SW, just off Macleod Trail, near Fish Creek Provincial Park and Shawnessy Shopping Centre. Operated by SE Health, a not-for-profit healthcare organization, Millrise Seniors Village provides a welcoming and supportive environment for 182 residents, offering a range of living options including Independent Living, Supportive Living, Memory Care, and Long-Term Care. We are currently looking for compassionate, reliable volunteers to join our team in the following roles: • Recreation Support – assisting with activities, programs, and social engagement • Dining Support – helping during meal times and supporting residents in the dining room • Laundry Support – assisting with folding and organizing resident laundry • Care Services – supporting staff with non-clinical resident care tasks • Reception – greeting visitors and supporting front-desk operations • Maintenance Support – assisting with light, non-technical tasks around the site Volunteering at Millrise Seniors Village is a rewarding way to give back, build meaningful connections, and make a real difference in the lives of seniors. Community Services volunteers include uniformed members who serve communities across Canada, providing first aid and emergency response support, as well as improving the quality of life for people confined to a health care facility through our Therapy Dog visitation program. Our volunteers contribute millions of hours to Canadian communities each year. First aid and CPR Training comprises instructors, volunteers and staff who provide high-quality first aid training and products. Under the guidance of our network of medical and health care professionals, St. John Ambulance is the national leader, setting the standard for training in first aid, CPR and other lifesaving skills. Perhaps the largest area in which St. John Ambulance Canada has a direct impact on the safety and well-being of Canadians is in the provision of first aid and CPR training. Each year across the country thousands of certified St. John instructors teach over half a million Canadians lifesaving skills that can be used at work, home and play. In first aid and CPR training, St. John Ambulance is widely recognized as the industry leader with it's proven combination of expert trainers, personalized instruction, how-to videos and learn-as-you-go training guides. The Brenda Strafford Foundation is a registered Canadian charitable organization established in 1975 by Dr. Barrie I. Strafford to honour his late wife, Brenda Strafford. The Brenda Strafford Foundation's core business is seniors care. The Foundation now owns and operates five Long Term Care and Assisted Living seniors care facilities in Calgary, AB, and Okotoks, AB, with over 1000 beds and approximately 1,200 staff. As a registered charity, The Foundation is involved in a number of projects for innovation in seniors health and wellness. The Foundation supports local charitable projects to serve women and children who are fleeing domestic violence, families at risk of homelessness, and persons in need of health services abroad in Haiti, Jamaica and Dominica. The Foundation also has a close affiliation with research at the University of Calgary.

The Wild Rose Neurological Network is a nonprofit organization based in Calgary, Alberta, dedicated to assisting individuals with mobility issues caused by neurological disorders such as MS, Parkinson's Disease, and brain injury. Founded on March 23, 2021, it aims to provide access to mobility devices that are not covered by the Medical Services Plan (MSP). The organization operates without a fancy office space, ensuring that all profits directly benefit its clients.
