STEAMistic is a youth-led initiative that aims to distribute STEAM-related educational materials & activities to youth from low socioeconomic status (SES) backgrounds across Calgary & Edmonton. Our activities encompass a diverse array of subjects within Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. These immersive activities are designed to meet educational standards while fostering engagement and hands-on learning. Goal: To ignite curiosity among the youth, help them build innovation skills, leadership skills and critical thinking skills. Mission: To provide accessible STEAM education & activities to young people across Calgary and Edmonton; to encourage innovative, scientific imagination; and to foster an interest in STEAM among young people.

The Western Canada Peer Training Society (WCPTS) is dedicated to fostering peer support communities that inspire hope, enhance resilience, and promote well-being. Through specialized training and mentorship, WCPTS equips individuals with lived experience to support others, creating inclusive and supportive environments. The organization also offers practicum placements, mentorship, and monthly community practice sessions, providing ongoing growth opportunities for peer supporters.

Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is the only national, volunteer-based charity focused on finding the cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of children and adults affected by these diseases. We are one of the top two health charity funders of Crohn’s and colitis research in the world, investing over $150 million in research since 1974, leading to important breakthroughs in genetics, gut microbes, inflammation and cell repair as well as laying the groundwork for new and better treatments. We are transforming the lives of people affected by Crohn’s and colitis (the two main forms of inflammatory bowel disease) through research, patient programs, advocacy, and awareness.

Between Friends has been offering social and recreational programs in Calgary and the surrounding area for close to 40 years. Through our programs, we endeavor to benefit all people and increase the community’s awareness, positive attitudes, and sensitivity towards their fellow citizens with disabilities. Through the name updates, program additions and changes and adapting to the ever-changing circumstances of our society Between Friends has remained committed to providing quality social and recreational programming for people with disabilities.

Wheelchair rugby is a co-ed parasport that is fast, physical, and exciting. CWRA supports our local athletes and encourages new players to come out and give the sport a try!

The Salvation Army is an international Christian organization that began its work in Canada in 1882 and has grown to become one of the largest non-governmental direct providers of social services in the country. We give hope and support to vulnerable people in 400 communities across Canada. In 1887 The Salvation Army began its work in Calgary by opening our first church in the city, The Calgary Citadel Corps. Over the years, The Salvation Army in Calgary continued to grow, increasing its social and religious services into three churches, one hospice and one social services unit. In 2005, our social services were amalgamated into one unit presently known as “Community Services (Calgary)” and our goal is to offer hope through supportive services to strengthen our community. Rabboni Support Society of Alberta support children and adults with special needs at the Rabboni Centre, in the community and in their homes. Our aim is to provide high quality and compassionate care services that support individuals with special needs, disabilities or health challenges, while giving their primary caregivers relief, rest and peace of mind.

Operated by a passionate team of volunteers, we transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary worlds of horror, using professional-quality sets, special effects, costuming, and live actors to create unforgettable scares. Our events aren’t just about fear—they’re about community. Proceeds support local charities, community programs, and Haunted Calgary’s year-round work to spread the joy of Halloween. We welcome volunteers of all ages, skills, and scare levels, with opportunities in acting, makeup, construction, set design, technical operations, customer service, and more. Whether you’re a seasoned haunter or brand new to the spooky scene, you’ll find a place in our creative, inclusive, and wildly fun family. We are a vibrant community association based inner city close to the university, ctrains and many schools. We offer many community events that bring people from our community as well as neighbouring communities and across the city, especially to our much loved stampede event in July, family friendly engagements and music in the park events in the summer. CISV (Children's International Summer Villages) was founded in the belief that peace is possible through building friendship and mutual understanding, starting with children. We help our young participants develop to their full potential as future leaders and active citizens, to make a difference in their communities and the world. We also give them the opportunity to build global friendships and networks that will last them a lifetime. Our innovative, fun, non-formal ‘learning by doing’ programmes begin with our original and unique Village programme for 11-year-olds. We offer an exciting blend of seven international camp-based, family exchange, and local community programmes. CISV International is a global organization dedicated to educating and inspiring for peace through building inter-cultural friendship, cooperation, and understanding. Founded in 1950, today we are a federation of nearly 70 National Associations with over 200 Chapters or local groups.

  Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta Division and Centre for Suicide Prevention (CMHA AB + CSP) work to further community mental health and suicide prevention across the province. Together with CMHA Regions and our partners, we’re building an Alberta where people’s wellbeing is supported in their community – by a friend, a peer, a support group, their local CMHA office, or the medical system. We equip people with the information, knowledge and skills necessary to respond to people considering suicide. We educate online, in print, and interactively. Our library of over 50,000 suicide-specific items, the largest English-language collection of its kind, informs the work we do.
