Our Mission Teenswork Freesports mission is to provide organized sports leagues throughout communities as well as sponsor children for city sports. “Removing financial barriers for all kids to play organized sports!” TeensWork FreeSports is a nation-wide Not-For Profit organization created to remove the financial barriers of being part of a team, that prevents so many kids from developing positive and healthy habits through organized sports.

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these "makers" to show hobbies, experiments, projects. We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth - a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness. Glimpse the future and get inspired! The Alberta Drama Festival Association is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization whose mandate is to encourage, develop and maintain community theatre in Alberta. The main vehicle for pursuing this mandate is the adult, non-professional One-Act Play Festivals held throughout Alberta. Regional organizations in each of the nine zones host annual festivals which bring together community groups in a celebration and sharing of theatre excellence.

Legacy Place Society, a registered non-profit charitable organization, was established in 1997 by a dedicated group of Calgary and Edmonton Police Officers. Over the years, it has evolved into a resilient pillar of support with a mandate to alleviate the distinctive challenges faced by first responders and military personnel. Recognizing the profound impact of their experiences on both individuals and their families, Legacy Place Society operates with a mission to cultivate resilience within these communities. The organization offers a range of services, including a confidential distress helpline, emergency housing, and educational partnerships focused on suicide awareness, intervention, mental well-being, and resiliency. This comprehensive approach positions Legacy Place Society as a vital support system for those navigating the unique challenges of the first responder and military environments. The target audience for Legacy Place Society is inherently predisposed to responding to highly traumatic situations, encompassing scenarios such as high-conflict situations, sexual assault/violence, child predators, trafficking, murders, and senior abuse. Additionally, members of the First Responders, Military, and Veterans community routinely face incidents involving attempted and completed suicides. The distressing reality emerges when a peer succumbs to suicide, eliciting a profound sense of responsibility, inadequacy, and failure among their colleagues, who are professionally expected to protect and serve. This burden is further exacerbated when individuals within this community grapple with suicidal thoughts themselves. Legacy Place Society actively works to break the ongoing stigma associated with mental health by validating the individuals accessing the phone line. The organization is committed to educating people, fostering an environment where individuals can openly discuss mental health, and empowering them to live healthier lives. Despite increased awareness, resources, and attention directed towards employee mental health, there remains uncertainty regarding the competence of support agencies to comprehend the unique perspectives of first responders. Ensuring complete confidentiality and avoiding re-traumatization when addressing their concerns is of paramount importance. Legacy Place boasts a robust track record of trust and a proven ability to guide callers with empathy and effectiveness towards additional assistance, providing a valuable resource for those within this specialized and challenging field. Our Mission Statement Our objective is to assist and support patients, families and friends by informing, empathizing and reassuring men on their journey with prostate cancer. By sharing our experiences with our own cancer we lift our spirits and strengthen our resolve to fight for quality of life and a cure. We have 3 main objectives: • To provide peer-to-peer mutual support for men and their families on their journey with prostate cancer, • To increase public awareness and understanding of the disease, • To advocate for a strong provincial voice in matters relating to prostate cancer.

We provide lunches, warm clothing, harm reduction supplies, bras and hygiene supplies while building up trust and connection.

Food Fosters is an independent ACSEL (Alberta Civil Society Emerging Leaders) initiative under Volunteer Alberta Society. Food Fosters celebrates how food builds culture, community, and creativity in Calgary. Through a youth engagement project (Food Fosters Challenge) and virtual sessions (Food for Thought), Food Fosters highlights how connections are strengthened through our relationships with food.

Dr. J. K. Mulloy School is located in the northwest community of Huntington Hills, which is situated at the base of Nose Hill between the communities of Beddington Heights and Thorncliffe/Greenview. Our school offers the Traditional Learning Centre Program. We offer kindergarten classes as well. Students coming to our school for are a culturally diverse group of learners who contribute to a vibrant, challenging and support environment for teaching and learning.

The Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) is a leading animal welfare organization in Alberta built on a foundation of compassion and kindness. Our values are embodied by our hard-working staff, dedicated volunteers, loving foster homes and generous supporters. Our goals are to help homeless animals in communities across Alberta, and to provide community support programs to address the root causes of animal overpopulation and homelessness.
