Drama’s annual student festival offers original and cutting edge stories and performances. Selections extend across genres and forms including musicals, theatre for young audiences, staged readings by graduate level playwrights, improvisation pieces and complete productions of one-act plays by some of the world’s most celebrated playwrights. Taking Flight offers students a wide variety of roles both on and off the stage, and is highly anticipated every year. This year’s plays are: The Intruder by Maurice Maeterlinck, directed by Tim Sutherland Art by Yasmina Reza, directed by Fasyali Fadzly bin Saipul Bahri Song of Myself by Walt Whitman, directed by Britt van Groningen Legoland by Jacob Richmond, directed by Courtney Charnock Some Androids Look Like Jesus written and directed by Ted Stenson The Beautiful Galatea by Franz von Suppé, directed by Barry Yzereef
