In the sky – The longest day of the year marks the first day of summer. July 24, 25, 26 Milky Way Nights Late night observing for the public 10pm to 2am September 20 Mars Open House Things are heating up with our planetary neighbor with the arrival of the spacecraft maven and the new findings on what created the linear landscapes on the surface of the red planet. In the sky – The mighty Hercules will be directly overhead. October 11 Mysterious Space Open House Fact is more incredible that fiction, but there is so much more discover in the universe beyond our little blue planet. Learn more about the great mysteries of space which confound physicists and philosophers alike. A fun evening of science fiction readings and history of UFOs at the RAO is planned. In the sky – The eye of Medusa will be watching you from the Perseus constellation. November 15 Turn out the light and take back the Night The easiest form of pollution to mitigate, yet light abatement is the one of the most misunderstood. Join us to learn more about the dark night sky and what can be viewed with the benefit of properly designed lighting. In the sky – The eternal chase continues with Taurus fleeing from Orion the hunter in the eastern sky, letting us know that winter is on its way.
