Joshua Vermillion is an assistant professor in the School of Architecture at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where his teaching and research focuses on architectural applications of computational design methods, digital fabrication tool, robotics and responsive systems. Prior to his appointment at UNLV, Vermillion taught design studios, seminars, and lecture courses in the Department of Architecture at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. While at Ball State, he also helped create and manage an applied research + immersive learning institute called i.M.A.D.E. i.M.A.D.E acts as a catalyst of digital design and fabrication techniques for both industry and education related to architecture and allied arts. Through immersive projects deploying interdisciplinary, applied design and fabrication research, the institute is a conduit between students, design professionals, and the manufacturing sector.
