Dr. Phil Langill will discuss the latest in solar research and also the observations made with the RAO’s solar research telescopes. If the sky is clear then we will have telescopes observing the sun. You can hunt for sunspots and see the filaments along the very active coronal layer with our special H-Alpha filter telescope. In the sky – Our open house is close to the longest day of the year and we are welcoming the first day of summer. Saturn and Mars will be visible overhead as the summer constellations slowly rising throughout the evening. We’ll have our telescopes ready with our monthly The Sky Tonight presentation. Entrance fee: $20 per car OR $10 per person No need to pre-register
