Join us in the Faculty of Social Work for a free presentation on Evidence-Based Practice: Whose Evidence? For What Purpose? The term Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) has become a common and influential concept in social work and the human services. For many organizations and practitioners the claim of being “evidence-based” gives their work a certain legitimacy and authority. However, despite its widespread acceptance, EBP is the subject of controversy. In this talk, Prof Stanley Witkin will discuss some of these controversies and raise questions about the meanings and uses of EBP. The presentation is free but pre-registration is required.
