After a two-year hiatus, the East Town Get Down Independent Music and Food Festival is back! The festival happens Saturday, May 28 from 7 p.m. to midnight on International Avenue – Calgary’s Culinary and Cultural District. East Town is unique in the way it brings together and celebrates Calgary’s thriving independent music scene with the dynamic (and delicious) international flavour of 17th Avenue SE. East Town Get Down happens along a six-blocks of International Avenue and area. Inspired by festivals like SXSW, you’ll find performances in a fun range of intimate and unlikely venues including small ethnic bistros, a bowling alley, and beautiful Unity Park.
