STEAMistic Calgary (Director of Outreach)

• Appropriate for youth (i.e., less than 18)
• Appropriate for volunteers aged between 18 and 55
• Training or orientation required

STEAMistic is a youth-led initiative that aims to distribute STEAM-related educational materials & activities to youth from low SES backgrounds across Edmonton & Calgary. Our goal is to ignite curiosity among the youth & help them build innovation, leadership & critical thinking skills. The director of outreach will be responsible for overseeing outreach efforts which includes maintaining email correspondence with potential organizations to partner with as well as meeting with organizations to discuss partnership opportunities. The Director of Outreach is also responsible for volunteer recruitment and overseeing training of volunteers (this includes creating training modules and leading online training workshops for new & current volunteers). Some previous experience in organizing and managing events, community outreach, or advocacy work is an asset. To be eligible to apply, applicants may be high school students, university students (undergraduate or graduate), or graduates who have completed their degree within the last five years.
