Join “Canada Connects” – Our Refugee Befriending Program in Calgary, Alberta! Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? Are you looking for a meaningful way to contribute to your community? We have an exciting volunteering opportunity just for you! Introducing “Canada Connects,” our Refugee Befriending Program, a unique initiative aimed at fostering connections and support for refugee families settling in Calgary, Alberta. We believe that by offering friendship and guidance, we can make a lasting impact on their journey towards integration and a brighter future. As a volunteer, you will have the privilege of becoming a friend and mentor to a refugee family, providing them with the support and encouragement they need during their settlement process. By sharing your time, experiences, and skills, you can create a welcoming and inclusive environment that helps them feel at home in our vibrant community. 🤝 What You’ll Do as a Volunteer: Act as a friendly and compassionate mentor to a refugee family Offer practical assistance, such as orientation to the local area and access to community resources Help build English language skills through informal conversations and activities Encourage social connections by participating in community events together Share cultural experiences and celebrate diversity Provide emotional support and be a source of encouragement during challenging times 💡 What You’ll Gain as a Volunteer: The opportunity to make a tangible difference in someone’s life A deeper understanding of diverse cultures and experiences Meaningful connections within your community Personal growth through intercultural exchange and learning The satisfaction of helping a family create a sense of belonging 🌎 Together, We Can Make a Difference! 🌎 No previous experience is necessary; all you need is a compassionate heart, open-mindedness, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
