Position Title: Festival Volunteer
Dates: September 24, 25, & 26, 2026
Time Commitment: Minimum 3-hour shift (6:00-9:00 pm)
Location: Victoria Park, Downtown Calgary (transit accessible)

About Night Light
Night Light is a three-night celebration of light, art, and performance that transforms Victoria Park into an immersive outdoor gallery. Through large-scale light installations, projection mapping, live performances, and interactive experiences, the festival inspires curiosity, creativity, and connection while providing a platform for artists to experiment, innovate, and share bold new ideas.
Produced by the Victoria Park BIA, Night Light welcomes thousands of visitors each year to experience Calgary in a completely new light.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteers are at the heart of the Night Light experience. As a member of our volunteer team, you'll help create a welcoming atmosphere while supporting one of Calgary's most distinctive public art festivals.
Whether you're looking to gain event experience, meet new people, support Calgary's arts community, or simply be part of something memorable, there's a place for you at Night Light.
No previous volunteer or event experience is required – training will be provided before the festival.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Welcome visitors and provide a positive first impression
- Assist with wayfinding between festival locations
- Share festival information, schedules, and recommendations
- Support interactive installations and encourage participation
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere
- Assist the festival team with general event support as needed

About the Organization
Victoria Park Business Improvement Area
Arts, Culture & Heritage
Formed in 1997, the Victoria Park Business Improvement Area (BIA)* is a not-for-profit business association that represents more than 350 merchants and businesses in the community of Victoria Park. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the BIA works to promote and improve the area and is an advocate on important community issues.
Victoria Park is located in the Beltline just south of the downtown core, with boundaries roughly extending east to west from the Elbow River to 2nd St SW, and north to south from the CPR tracks near 10th Ave to 17th Ave S.
Membership is automatic for businesses falling within the BIA boundaries.
