Description: The 2024 MS Bike Airdrie to Olds event is taking place on June 22nd and 23rd! MS Bike is the largest fundraising cycling series in North America. Cyclists of all ages and fitness levels across Canada come together each year to end Canada’s disease: multiple sclerosis. There are various areas on site (event set up/wrap up, participant check in area, breakfast area, bike storage, luggage storage, bartending (must have ProServe), start/finish line cheering, volunteer & many more ) where volunteer help is needed to ensure that this event runs smoothly and participants have a great experience while they are biking to raise critical funds to support those affected by MS. Description: Classroom volunteers are needed in grade one at Dr. J. K. Mulloy School for the 2024-2025 school year! Join us in grade one and help supervise small groups of 3-5 students as they complete learning games and activities while rotating through reading, writing, and math stations. We will provide all materials, and instructions. Teachers will always be present in the classroom. We are looking for community members that are interested in a rewarding, volunteer opportunity with children. Ideally, volunteers will have already completed their police security clearance in the past 5 years. However, we can also assist with this process if need be. Volunteers will come in once a week from 10:45-12:30, on either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Volunteering will begin the week of September 9 and end the week of December 16. Winter and spring term opportunities are also available. Dr. J.K. Description: The Carewest Gift Shops are exciting hubs of activity, offering a variety of unique gift items. They serve as the local convenience shop for the site with books, magazines, greeting cards, snacks, and personal care items. Gift Shop volunteers help the site as the proceeds generated are donated back to the site to support resident and client programs. As a Gift Shop volunteer, you will gain valuable experience in customer service by creating retail displays, cash operations and assisting with stocking the store. The ability to operate a cash register is an asset but training will be offered. There are a variety of day, evening and weekend shifts available. Description: The Rocky Mountain Eagle Research Foundation (RMERF) is dedicated to the study and conservation of eagles and other migrant raptors. Since 1992, RMERF volunteers have performed annual raptor migration counts at the same site location in the Kananaskis Country, Alberta, spring and fall; significantly providing data to the understanding of and amazement in watching Golden Eagles. By engaging in educational outreach and collaborating with other conservation organizations, the foundation aims to promote awareness and appreciation of eagles and their ecological importance.
