SECA enhances the lives of residents by encouraging neighbourliness, a sense of belonging and community pride. SECA is a members-based, volunteer-driven organization, incorporated as a Society in Alberta. We host a variety of annual and pop-up events as well as quality outdoor children's programs. Our network of eight Little Free Libraries is a much-loved amenity and we are embarking on a placemaking project to further enhance our parks and pathways.

CCIS (Calgary Catholic Immigration Society) is a non-profit organization which provides settlement and integration services to all immigrants and refugees in Southern Alberta. Since our inception in 1981, we have been a community leader with solid experience in the design and delivery of comprehensive services for our newest neighbours. We deliver these services through a dynamic multi-cultural, multi-denominational and multi-disciplinary team of professionals, who collectively speak over 60 languages.

Since our club was chartered in 1938, our club has focused on the following areas: Education –school programming related to skills development, the fine arts, public speaking, essay writing, and scholarships (i.e. Mount Royal University, SAIT, Calgary Foundation). Health – mental and physical health, obesity, addictions, and bullying. Community – community programming related to skills development, picnics, and family days. Volunteer Grant Writer Bright Lights For Africa is a Canadian registered charity and non-governmental organization, whose vision is to empower marginalized and vulnerable individuals through acts of love, compassion, and generosity, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. We serve both local and international communities and focus on tackling root causes of poverty to create sustainable and lasting change in the lives of those we serve. We have an exciting volunteer opportunity for a Grant Administrator! You will work remotely, about 4 to 6 hours per week and apply your skillset to support the grant/funding application process at Bright Lights for Africa. Ask Her strives to advance principles of inclusive and equitable representation in municipal government through training and development of candidates, and building a community of support. We are filled with energetic, capable people!  At Ask Her, we work in partnership across political and non-political organizations and networks of supporters including candidates, potential candidates, volunteers, funders and partners to help make it commonplace and expected for women to participate in Calgary’s municipal leadership. The Optimist Clubs' Park Society of Calgary supports youth-oriented projects in Calgary and area.  We are currently exploring opportunities for community parks development with the City of Calgary Parks Foundation.  In the past few years, we have provided funding to the YMCA (archery shelter and climbing wall at Camp Riveredge), Calgary Stetson Show Band (equipment truck), Calgary Stampede Foundation (Optimist Young Artists' Lounge), and Indefinite Arts Society (kitchen and art gallery).

Welcome to Girl Guides! We empower young girls and women to be everything they want to be, and as a volunteer, you will help make that happen! Our volunteers support girls as they build confidence, develop new skills and become leaders in their communities. As part of a unit’s leadership team, you’ll facilitate fun and engaging program activities, like scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, games and more. You can choose to work with girls in one of five branches: Sparks (age 5-6), Brownies (age 7-8), Guides (age 9-11), Pathfinders (age 12-14) or Rangers (age 15-17).

Shelter Movers is a national, volunteer-powered charitable organization providing moving and storage services at no cost to individuals and families fleeing abuse. We collaborate with local businesses and community agencies to support people, primarily women and children, as they transition to a life free of violence. As the only service of our kind in Canada, Shelter Movers helps survivors of gender-based violence transition to a better, safer life. Our VISION is a world where survivors can move on from abuse in dignity and power.
