For more than 30 years, local charity The Magic of Christmas has partnered with Calgary Transit to dress up, deliver gifts and spread holiday cheer to hundreds of Calgarians on Christmas Eve.

The funding will support 36 community organizations across the province “to end gender based violence,” with 14 in Calgary, seven in Edmonton, four in southern Alberta, seven in central Alberta and four in northern Alberta.

Macquarie Group Foundation marks 10 years of supporting Calgary charities
The Macquarie Group Foundation is marking 10 years of fundraising for local charities, raising more than $16 million for 27 organizations in Calgary since 2015.
The initiative brings together staff, clients and energy-sector partners to support programs and services across the city.

Calgary high school students launch charity to give back to their community
High school can be a busy time for teenagers, but one Grade 12 student at Western Canada High School wanted to make a difference in her community.
Wynne Leong, 17, founded The Love Cycle Charity after speaking with peers who shared her desire to volunteer and give back.
The charity now has more than 25 members aged 12 to 18 from five Calgary schools, including students in different grades.
