Canmore cancels annual Highland Games after 26 years of tossing cabers

After more than a quarter century of tartan pageantry, the Canmore Highland Games has tossed its last caber. The group that puts on the annual Labor Day long weekend event has pulled the plug on the event, citing a lack of volunteers to operate the festival of Scottish culture and sport.
