The lunchtime sessions are an opportunity for current Block Week instructors and those interested in teaching courses in this compressed format to establish connections across the disciplines. The workshops will focus on experiences with teaching Block Week, on advantages of teaching very intense classes, on how to address common challenges/problems, and on how to tap into block week’s unexplored potential. At the end of the workshops, participants will be able to: identify the unique advantages and challenges of teaching Block Week courses develop creative ways of dealing with the potential problems (such as information overload) commonly associated with highly intensive courses, and come up with strategies that allow for maximizing student engagement. Session takes place Dec. 7, 2016. This session will also be broadcasted online for those who are not able to come on campus.
