Speakers Series: Political Theory and Latin America The Latin American Research Centre, the Department of Political Science and the Department of French, Italian and Spanish welcome Dr. Jon Beasley-Murray, Associate Professor in Hispanic Studies with focus on Latin American Studies and political theory at the University of British Columbia. His talk will outline both a critique of contemporary political theories that are based on the notions of “hegemony” and “civil society,” and the new approach employing the concepts of affect, habit, and multitude.
