The Constant Gardener follows Justin Quayle (Ralph Fiennes), a British diplomat in Kenya, as he tries to solve the murder of his wife Tessa (Rachel Weisz), an Amnesty activist. As he gets closer to the truth, Quayle uncovers that before her murder, his wife was getting dangerously close to uncovering the malpractices of a powerful pharmaceutical company that was exploiting African’s dying from HIV/AIDS to test a new anti-tuberculosis drug. Dr. Christopher Doig, head, Department of Critical Care Medicine, University of Calgary, and Dr. Bill Ghali, scientific director, O’Brien Institute for Public Health, will lead an audience discussion after the film. Free admission and popcorn.
