International Muskox Health and Ecology Symposium University of Calgary AB, Canada The Department of Ecosystem and Public Health (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Calgary) is hosting an international Muskox Health and Ecology Symposium. It will be a unique opportunity for different stakeholders such as community members, industry, wildlife management professionals, policy makers, and academia to share knowledge on muskox health ecology and sustainability. The muskox is an emblematic species of the Arctic and a central element in the life of circumpolar people who depend on it for subsistence and income. For this reason, monitoring and management of muskox populations is not only crucial from the conservation perspective but is also a part of a broader process to ensure food safety and security in some of the most remote regions of the world. For more information, visit the website. The symposium will be held in multiple locations but mainly, presentation sessions will be in Theatre 3 in the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) Building on Foothills Campus, University of Calgary.
