Join our campus and community allies for a creative and energy-infused evening of discussion around what gender and sexual diversity means in the Calgary context and how can university scholars best contribute. Each participating organization will give a brief overview of their mandate and how gender and sexual diversity fits. We follow with a series of break-out sessions to identify best practices, absent data, critical frameworks, and new strategies for research activism. The event begins at 6PM. Refreshments will be served. This event is part of the Gender and Sexual Diversity Symposium presented by the Institute for Gender Research in partnership with the Women’s Studies Feminist Club and the Women’s Resource Centre. We gratefully acknowledge our supporters, The Office of the Vice-President (Research), The Vice-Provost (Teaching and Learning), and the Vice-Provost (Student Experience). The event is free, but registration is required.

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children, to earn the approbation of honest critics; to appreciate beauty; to give of one’s self, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived–that is to have succeeded.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
