The Hotchkiss Brain Institute is pleased to present the fifth annual Bryan Kolb Lecture in Behavioural Neuroscience on Friday, September 19, 2014. Following the lecture, we invite all members, trainees, staff and guests to join us for the HBI Welcome Back Wine & Cheese reception. Keynote Speaker: Professor Trevor W. Robbins, CBE FRS FMedSci Head of the Department of Psychology and Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience University of Cambridge Lecture: Impulsivity and Compulsivity: Neural basis and neuropsychiatric implications This lecture will be concerned with ‘behavioural neuroendophenotypes’ of relevance to neuropsychiatry. The focus is on impulsivity and compulsivity, and their utility for understanding the aetiology and possible treatment of drug addiction, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. The ultimate aim is to identify impairments in specific behavioral processes that can be linked to the aberrant functioning of discrete neural circuitry, for example within the cortico-striatal pathways.
