Ups and Downs is a registered not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and their support groups. Our vision is to promote lifelong partnerships that foster family connections, friendships, healthy lifestyles, an inclusive community, and a future without limits. As our organization continues to develop and expand, we are excited to add a Volunteer Coordinator to be part of the growth of our organization. Job description: Volunteers are the heart of Ups and Downs! We could not do our valuable work without them, and we are seeking a team member to lead the onboarding, engagement, and support of new and current volunteers. You will be working together with other high skilled teammates to coordinate volunteer support for exciting member events and programs. Are you organized, friendly, and can work both independently and with a team? Do you have excellent people skills? You will have access to strong data management tools to help you organize, recruit, train, and engage volunteers. This impactful role has you collaborating with other volunteers such as the Program Coordinator, Communications Volunteers, and Member Relations Volunteer, as you work together as a team to create meaningful experiences and support for everyone involved! Major duties: Coordinate the recruitment, training, and support new and existing volunteers Manage volunteer information through our database (i.e. screening volunteer applications and ensuring up to date police information checks.) Communicate and collaborate with Program Coordinator, Member Relations, and Communications Volunteers Attend member events as needed Preferred skills: High School Diploma preferred Experience working with and coordinating volunteers Comfort or experience working with persons with disabilities Strong people skills, excellent with teamwork, and communication skills Experience with database administration
