Join the Women’s Resource Centre’s Community Outreach and Peer Support team for tea, a TED talk, and engaging discussion centered around violence against women, just in time for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence. We will be watching a 15-minute TED talk by Jackson Katz that has been viewed millions of times around the world. The talk discusses how men can end violence against women and why we all need to be fighting to change our culture. We will then split up into small groups to talk about the causes and impacts of gender-based violence and how we can support the movement to end violence against women before debriefing as a larger group. Come with your questions, ideas, experiences, and anything that you would like to discuss.

This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one, the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap, the being a force of nature instead of a feverish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
George Bernard Shaw
