Women Leaders Speaker Series featurning Zarqa Nawaz

The Women’s Resource Centre’s Women Leaders Speaker Series is proud to feature Zarqa Nawaz who is best known as the creator of the CBC television series “Little Mosque on the Prairie” and has recently released a collection of stories about her own life “Laughing All the Way to the Mosque”. Her lived experiences and work define what it means to challenge the status quo. A book signing will follow the event and her books will be available to purchase at the event. Everyone is welcome! Born in Liverpool and raised in Toronto, Zarqa Nawaz is best known as the creator of the Canadian television series “Little Mosque on the Prairie”. Nawaz has worked in various capacities with both the CBC and CTV and has written comedy pilots for ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX.
