Did you know? Every year, approximately 525 Canadian die needlessly in unintentional water-related fatalities. The University of Calgary Aquatic Centre is putting its best foot forward to decrease these numbers by hosting a FREE learn to float event for all students and staff. We invite you to learn or review fundamental self-rescue skills. Our certified Canadian Red Cross Instructors will be in the pool ready to help YOU gain invaluable water safety skills. No previous swimming experience is necessary. Where: The University of Calgary Aquatic Centre Cost: NONE! It’s FREE! Register at https://www.ucalgary.ca/ActiveLiving/registration/Program/ifloat?offeringId=W16AAALF01 What to bring: Swim suit, towel, UCID and a smile on the pool deck We have swim suits, for men, women and children, as well as goggles and swim caps for purchase at the client services counter. Our selection includes high performance training equipment as well as thermal swim suits for young children, and modesty swimwear for women that covers the body leaving only the face, hands and feet exposed.
