Sport is rigidly organized by traditional notions of sex and gender. This can impact athletes in a variety of ways through their participation in sporting events. Dr. William Bridel will present a brief overview of the academic research and then discuss how he has attempted to use his own work and the work of others to encourage more inclusivity in sport in the Canadian context.
