SUMMARY OF POSITION Reviewing and revising client resumes and cover letters in accordance with CIWA guidelines. The minimum commitment is 3 months, with flexible hours on an on-call basis. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Attend an Orientation session and Resume Writing workshop Assist Employment Counsellor(s) with reviewing and editing clients’ resumes and cover letters Create resumes and cover letters for some clients Adhere to the resume template provided to CIWA staff Report volunteer hours STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE Ensure that professional approach is aligned with CIWA values Demonstrate a high level of initiative and enthusiasm Volunteers must strictly adhere to CIWA’s confidentiality policy Follow instructions and adhere to boundaries QUALIFICATIONS Excellent English writing skills Good knowledge and understanding of resumes and cover letters Human Resources or English language education and/or experience is an asset Positive, professional, organized and reliable Advanced computer skills (MSWord) and access to computer and internet Understand and respect diversity
