Ups and Downs – Calgary Down Syndrome Association is a vibrant family support group that enriches the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families by providing a network of resources, sharing common experiences, learning together, and creating awareness in the broader community. Within the organization, a variety of volunteer opportunities exist, including our annual fundraiser (Street Meet), seminars, conferences, seasonal parties, and events, and more. Ups and Downs thrives off our volunteer involvement. Our amazing volunteers plan and execute many events and programs throughout the year. Anyone involved with Ups and Downs knows that our members are a ton of fun and the Down syndrome community is an amazing place to be a part of! We are now accepting applications for volunteers. We are not only looking for volunteers to help plan and attend events and programs, but we are also looking for some passionate, committed individuals to fill some key leadership roles (in-person and virtual roles). See below for a list of some key leadership roles: Volunteer Coordinator, Event Coordinator, Grant Writing, Volunteer Digital Marketer/Social Media Coordinator, Member Relations Volunteer, Administrative Assistant, Teen & Young Adult (TYA) Educational Workshop Coordinator, Parents Educational Programming Coordinator, Dads’ Night Out Coordinator, Moms’ Night Out Coordinator, Street Meet Committee, Grass Roots Fundraising Volunteer, Corporate Fundraising Volunteer, and Fund Development Volunteer.
