Children’s Team Support – Volunteer About us Our goal is to create a standard of excellence in childcare, providing programs that meet the diverse needs of the community, and we need HELP! We believe in providing a positive, nurturing environment that will encourage creativity, intellectual curiosity, social interactions, self-help skills, physical activity and emotional development for children. If this sounds like something that you can support with, we would love to hear from you! WHO YOU ARE: We are looking for someone fun and flexible who has a sincere desire to build relationships with children and support their play. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and we know that meaningful adult relationships support positive development. If you are warm, caring, open to trying new things, friendly and have a good sense of humour, this may be the right fit for you! (Of course, you should probably like children, too!). WHAT YOU’LL DO: Play with children to support the care & learning of students 0-6 years of age in our program; Contribute to the overall operations of the PLAY centre, with a specific focus on working with children in the classroom. Participate in games, circle time, stories, songs and meals with the children Reports to the Executive Director/Floor Supervisor or designate. Qualifications: Police Security Check with Vulnerable Sector Check Current First Aid and CPR (preferable) Passion, desire and experience to spend time with children, even when it may be challenging Written and oral fluency in English COVID-19 considerations: PPE provided. Enhanced cleaning and masking procedures in place. Daily checklists to screen for the health and safety of children and staff.
