Quest Theatre (Calgary/Moh’kinsstis) is searching for a volunteer Governance Committee Member – Human Resources. Our ideal candidate is a CPHR with 7+ years of experiences, based in Calgary and interested in supporting Quest’s vision, mission and values.

For almost 40 years, Quest Theatre has nurtured young people through exceptional adventures in theatre, creating intelligent and whimsical work that encourages young people to explore who they are, discover what is important, and build the kind of world they want to live in. We do theatre WITH young people and FOR young people with the knowledge that exposure to the arts is vital for their personal growth, character development, and sense of belonging in society.

Role Description

We are seeking a professional and enthusiastic individual with a background and experience in human resources to join our Governance Committee. Prior Board or Committee experience is considered an asset.

Major responsibilities include:

Governance Committee – Human Resources

        • Leadership and guidance support with all HR related policies, procedures and documents.
        • Annual review of the employee personnel policies and procedures.
        • Review and recommendations of compensation packages including benefits.
        • Participation and oversight in the recruitment, selection process and succession planning for Quest leadership and board/committee roles as required.
        • Guidance and support in the annual performance reviews of the Artistic Director and Director of Business Operations.
        • Provide human resources guidance as required including recruitment, performance management etc.
        • Other Governance Committee duties as required

Time Commitment

Governance Committee meetings are held virtually approximately 6 times per year. Some ad hoc meetings and work may be required. This role could lead to a Board position if desired.
