Job Description

Our Business Development Team is looking for an experienced CPA to assist with tax planning and provide strategic financial guidance for the structuring of 65square. This role is ideal for a professional interested in contributing their expertise to a meaningful cause with the flexibility to work remotely. You’ll play a key role in helping us establish a strong financial foundation for this unique social platform, setting it up for sustainable success.

Responsibilities

• Offer expert tax advice on structuring 65square as a for-profit cooperative owned by our nonprofit.
• Assist in developing a financial strategy that aligns with DEFEND’s mission and long-term goals.
• Work closely with the team to ensure financial decisions support 65square’s goals and comply with legal requirements.
• Apply analytical skills to navigate financial and structural challenges, providing actionable solutions.

Requirements

• Must be a Certified Public Accountant with current registration.
• Able to dedicate 1-3 hours per week for at least 4-6 weeks, with the possibility for ongoing involvement.
• Comfortable working collaboratively with a diverse, mission-driven team.
• Able to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
• Skilled in identifying challenges and developing effective, compliant solutions.
