Calgary Youth Justice Society has a 25-year history of helping vulnerable youth find their way through challenging life circumstances and sometimes unhealthy choices that can hold them back from reaching their full potential. We believe that every young person belongs and has the potential to meaningfully contribute to our community. Our strengths-based approach with a focus on positive youth development builds protective factors and reduces risk factors in youth served.

Programs center around a relentless pursuit of strengths in our youth, building positive relationships with caring adults and peers, as well as connecting them in a meaningful way to their community. CYJS programs reach youth primarily within the scope of primary and secondary prevention. Youth served are at a point where vulnerabilities have been identified and at a time where the impact of strengthening protective factors to reduce risk factors and the development of poor outcomes.

 

Canadian Centre for Men and Families

The Canadian Centre for Men and Families (CCMF) Alberta provides a safe and welcoming space for men while they navigate relationship distress. Our aim is to help equip men so they can be more involved fathers, better partners, safer workers, and more engaged contributing members of their communities.

Our clients are mostly men who have experienced distressing events and/or trauma causing them to suffer emotionally and usually financially. They need a safe place to belong and have meaningful conversations so that they can create a better future for themselves and their families.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help out at our new Interim Housing Facility:

This facility provides a safe and spacious temporary living opportunity for single men and fathers with children. It is dedicated to supporting those who have experienced any form of domestic abuse or family crisis.

Canadian Progress Club - Calgary City Centre Women's Club

Canadian Progress Club - Calgary City Centre women’s club is a friendly, inclusive group of women who work together to help others in our community. New members are always welcome! We meet from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month between September and June, at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 285 at 9202 Horton Rd SW.

All women are welcome to bring their passion and enthusiasm for helping others and join us at an upcoming meeting!

Cards For A Cause is a nonprofit organization created by two high school students. Our goal is to create community and spark happiness in times of stress and isolation, through cards. We are planning to involve senior homes, homeless shelters, front-line workers, and schools. Students from schools will be given the opportunity to write cards for the residents and workers of senior homes and homeless shelters and front-line workers. Students can leave their contact information for the possibility of receiving a card back.

The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta (CPAA) offers volunteer opportunities for one-time events, ongoing programs or office-based work. Volunteers play a fundamental role in the programs and services that we offer to our members and the community. Without volunteers, our weekly programs cannot run and there is an opportunity for individuals of all abilities to become volunteers.

By volunteering with us, you are a positive representation of our organization in the office, the community and especially in the lives of other people. Volunteering with the CPAA is an opportunity to use your personal interests and skills towards creating a Life without Limits for individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
